Description
Clarence Fahnestock Memorial State Park boasts abundant opportunities for boating, hunting, fishing, and birding. Canopus Lake, with its sandy shore and nearby picnic area, is the jewel of the park. Fishing in Stillwater and Canopus Lakes and in the park's four ponds is excellent in all seasons for anglers seeking bass, pickerel, perch, or brook and rainbow trout. Rowboats and kayaks are available for rental. The park is also home to Fahnestock Winter Park, which includes 15 kilometers of groomed trails for cross-country skiing and snowshoeing, as well as an area for sledding.

Recreation:
The campground's nature center houses environmental displays. On weekends, park staff lead hikes and activities. Summer visitors particularly enjoy hitting the beach, boating, fishing, biking, hiking, hunting, picnicking, and camping. Winter visitors can sled, ice fish, and cross-country ski.
Facilities:
The park has a beach, boat launch, boat rentals, a nature trail, a bridle path for horses, concessions, a picnic area with tables and a pavilion. The scenic campground, formed along the park's natural rock ridges, provides alcoves of privacy and tranquility. Each campsite has a picnic table, fire ring and a barbeque grill.
