Description
The park's boat launch is the most modern on Lake Chautauqua, which, at 1,308 feet above sea level, is one of the highest navigable bodies of water in North America. The lake has a plentiful supply of bass, perch, pike and other types of fish, but fishermen come to Chautauqua to fish for muskellunge. Muskellunge, or muskie, are native to the lake, noted for their size--often more than 30 inches long (in fact they must be at least 40" to keep) -- and their "fight." In winter, visitors can cross-country ski, fat bike, snowmobile or fish.
